About PAL-en

This is a list for discussion and mutual aid on localization of information and communication technologies (ICT) in African languages. Topics for discussion include:
1) Translation of software applications and operating systems into African languages.
2) Technical aspects of localization.
3) Applied linguistics issues (like orthographies, writing systems)
4) Marketing and deployment of localized software.
5) Multilingual web content development
6) Training and capacity building for localizers, webmasters, and users of localized software.

The working language of this list is English. There are also lists in French and Portuguese. Automatic "machine translation" enables subscribers to this list to follow discussions on the other two lists.
