South Africa Uses Muscle to expropriate farm
The South African government has announced it will expropriate a white-owned farm under new laws aimed at accelerating the return of land to black communities. The move comes after the owner had demanded double the market related price offered by the government. Land redistribution is a topical issue in South Africa where the white minority still own most of the arable land. The country intends to transfer 30% of land to black communities by 2014 but only 3% of the land has been redistributed.

Rwandan Genocide Convicts Begin Community Service
Hundreds of Rwandan genocide convicts have begun community service as punishment for their role in the 1994 killings. The convicts released under a pardon by President Paul Kagame have to build homes for genocide survivors whose houses were destroyed during the fighting. Close to a million people lost their lives in the genocide.

Zim Businessmen Claims Assets Used to pay IMF
PROMINENT Zimbabwean businessman Mutumwa Mawere, now a South African citizen, says part of the money recently used by government to pay the IMF arrears came from his seized assets. Zimbabwe recently paid the IMF 120 million US dollars towards its 295 million debt. The IMF has launched an investigation into the source of the funds.
