Building African Women’s & Youth Movements and Forming International Sisterhood
November 10, 2004
The African Women’s Charity Organization has received an awesome response from our youth in Africa who are interested in participating in the African Youth Conference on March 12, 2005 In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We are full of joy about your interest.
We are building African Women’s and Youth Movements throughout the US to connect with Women’s and Youth in Africa so that we can collectively solve our problems of food, clothing, shelter, education, healthcare, childcare, transportation, employment, etc. Starting in 2000 we’ve organized ten African Women’s and Youth Conferences throughout the US. We have traveled to Africa five times representing our projects. “Peace for Rwanda” “Pennies for Angola” and “Support for Eritrea.” We are currently working on our project “Pennies for Zimbabwe” and we just returned from Zimbabwe in October of this year. We’ve conducted workshops and seminars and have participated in numerous speaking engagements and interviews.
Panels
Why Organization Is Necessary
How to Build a Youth Movement
The Importance of Africa
Solidarity with Youth of the World
The Importance of Women’s Leadership in the Youth movement
We would like the panelist to discuss the following:
What is your organization doing to make a contribution to the youth and women’s movements?
What can your organization do to improve its contribution to the youth and women’s movements?
The importance of women’s leadership in the youth and women’s movements
Be prepared to speak on the history/mission of your organization and the activities/work the organization has done in this mission. You can also offer some ways that your organization suggests that we all can work to bring about more success and unity.
The conference is free and everyone who is participating is volunteering his or her labor. We are a grassroots organization that has no money so people who come are responsible for their travel and accommodations . Please include your organization if you belong to one. In terms of invitation letters, priority will go to the people who explained what their organizations are doing to help the youth of Africa. It is very important that we have your contact information so we can send you an invitation letter. We hope that you will help us with the important work of building a Youth Movement. We anxiously wait for your reply. Thanks.
With an undying love for mother Africa,
The African Women’s Charity Organization
