Dear members, We inadvertently omitted some of the participating countries in our welcome message. India is represented by the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative, New Delhi, they were one of our earliest registered participants. We are sorry for the mix up. Australia is also represented by our good friend Pamela Watson of the Safari Strategy, she is however resident in Nigeria for now and shares our pains with us. We totally agree with the comments of John Dada of Fantsuan Foundation, Nigeria. You can see the sheer determination of Mr. Dada in travelling for miles before he can have access to the internet twice monthly. This is the general situation most Nigerians face inspite of their education. Our colleagues from the North will bear us out that they have almost unlimited and cheap access to the internet, whether they are in the cities or in the countryside. Knowledge is power and the gap between the developed and developing world will continue to grow as long as there is inequity and poverty in the world. We thank Felicia for her comments. This is an interactive conference and we encourage more contributions from all participants. That way we will be able to network, learn from each other and achieve our conference objectives. Thank you and have a nice day. J.J. OWA CONFERENCE CO-ORDINATOR[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next] [Date Index] [Thread Index] Last Updated: Thu Mar 15 00:16:46 2007 |
