Dear friend

I have only been back in South Africa for a week and I am leaving tomorrow morning for Uganda in East Africa. I have the privilege of launching Sonlife disciplemaking training in three cities, including the capital Kampala. Pastor Kiyimba Yusuf Brown is hosting me and has done all the work to make contact with key leaders (an anticipated 80 leaders will be attending our three Strategy seminars).

Please pray that God will prepare the hearts of the delegates in advance and that we will launch ministry in Uganda successfully using the combined wisdom that we have been gaining over the past seven years that Sonlife has been operating in Africa.

I praise God too for a successful time in Costa Rica and the United States of America in April. I was privileged to attend the Global Youth Initiative gathering in San Jose, Costs Rica where we experienced Latin culture, wandered through rain forests and rubbed shoulders with like-minded colleagues from across the globe. From there I travelled to the States and spent my time visiting local churches and missions teams to share the vision of our ministry in Africa and can testify that churches in Chicago, Iowa and Atlanta are in the process of partnering with us to grow leaders across the continent of Africa. It was great to finally meet up with the new director of Sonlife in North America during my time in Chicago. Although meeting for the first time, we sensed a deep connection during our time together.

I lost my young brother while I was away, due to a fire accident in his bedroom, and it has been comforting to learn that in his last few weeks was connecting with God in significant ways. This whole experience has also brought our family into a greater awareness of eternal realities and should spur us on to make the most of every opportunity that we share with each other and challenge us to stay connected despite the distance that separates us.

As I leave Debbie and my kids behind once again to do the work that God has called me to, I would appreciate it if you could keep them in your prayers while I am travelling. I return on Sunday the 15th of May.

Thank you for your interest in our lives and this significant ministry of disciplemaking in Africa.

Regards

Mark Tittley
