Dear friend The US elections for a new president have come and gone and no matter what you may think of the outcome of the election or of America, one thing is sure - Americans are incredibly generous and are passionate about the spread of the kingdom of God in Africa. My recent trip to the States cost Sonlife Africa a total of R253.00 - the equivalent of 40 US Dollars - and that includes my flight to and from the USA, internal travel between three different states and all my accommodation and living costs. I was not allowed to pay for anything and came back with gifts for my kids that made them think that Christmas has come early in the Tittley household. God is good, and He opened the door for me to make significant connections with numerous organisations and churches that we are building relationships with and in God's time, he will open the doors through which funding will flow to enable us to expand out impact in Africa. Already one church is about to transfer funds into our account to make it possible for myself and Edgar Ramsami to attends a conference of global youth educators in London in January 2005 and to pay for us to travel to the Congo in February 2005 for our first ever gathering of regional Sonlife leaders in Africa. Edgar and I will meet with Gary and Sharon Howell and Peter Brokopp as we start to strategise ways to make our expansion in Africa move from a central point to regional hubs. I have never been more convinced that this is the natural outworking of where God has led us so far and will enable us to accomplish so much more for the kingdom. We have always sought to teach and model the principle of multiplication and in terms of the continent of Africa, we are starting to see that become a reality. I am excited about opportunities to start Sonlife in Uganda and in Kenya in 2005. For more than a year now, I have been praying that God will bring me into relationship with a key leader from each of these countries and God has heard and answered my prayers. I am building a relationship with a young pastor from Uganda who will be hosting training in May/June next year. I also met with co-president of Campus Crusade in Africa, while I was in Orlando, Florida last month, and George has connected with a key leaders in a church in Nairobi and I am eagerly anticipating where this will lead in 2005. My family is doing well. We have enrolled Ashley in a school for learners with learning barriers. She was diagnosed with ADD two years ago and has been on a mild daily dose of Ritalin ever since. She had occupational and speech therapy as well as some remedial help with school work but is still struggling to keep pace with mainstream learners and God has opened the door for her to attend Delta Park from January next year and after attending the open day at the school on Friday both Debbie and I am convinced that it is the perfect environment for her. Keegan continues to float through school, and our challenge is to keep an eye on him while so much attention is given to Ashley. I am praying specifically that we would be able to build Christian values into their lives. Debbie remains fulfilled in her job as a preschool teacher and plays a vital role of leading our household whenever I travel. Without her, I simply would not be able to do what I do! I wish to praise God for a reconciled relationship with Colin Phelps, who served with Sonlife Africa earlier this year - we have had two meetings and only by the grace of God have been able to reconnect as individuals. God is good! The Sonlife Africa board will be meeting on Monday the night the 15th of November. Please pray for us as we invite new members who are joining the board and as we seek to work more effectively as a team. God has brought a real treasure into my life. Steve Smith and I have been meeting regularly since June this year and his wisdom in change management has taken me into new depths in terms of strategic planning. Under his facilitation, I believe that the board will reach a new level of effectiveness. I am personally looking forward to attending a two day mentoring consultation in Johannesburg on the 18-19 November. I will be attending with Edgar Ramsami and John Abrahamse - two key peer mentors that I have in my life at present. In December, for 10 days, we are thrilled to be hosting Dave and Rennie Garda from Cadre Ministries in the USA. They were my first connection with Sonlife Ministries and are coming to building relationships and share with Sonlife Africa, Sonlife South Africa and J-Life Ministries. The Tittley's and the Garda's will be heading off on a three day safari to the Kruger National Park - what a blessing! So, how can you pray more effectively? 1. Pray that God will help us grow the relationships with potential donors we are connecting with. 2. Pray that God will helps us to schedule the regional leaders gathering in Congo in February 2005. 3. Pray that God will give us wisdom as we plan to expand our disciplemaking impact in 2005. 4. Pray that God will prepare Ashley for her new school. 5. Pray that God will help us give the Garda's the experience of a lifetime in December. 6. Pray that God will help John, Edgar and I take our mentoring to a new level. 7. Pray for the Sonlife Africa board as it meets on Monday the night the 15th of November. Your partner in ministry Mark Tittley --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
