Dear friend

Greetings in the wonderful name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

I would appreciate your prayers as I leave this evening for the States on a
two week time of meeting with global partners of Sonlife around the world. I
will be connect with key supporters and donors (to share updates of how our
ministry is progressing in Africa) and meeting with potential supporters for
our ministry.

Here is my itinerary:

I fly tonight from Johannesburg to Atlanta and from there to Grand Rapids in
Michigan. I will be spending time with friends as well as meeting with
ministry partners. Please pray particularly for me on Monday to Wednesday
next week as I have several key meetings lined up - I am praying God will
use these connections to unlock funds for our ministry in 2005 and beyond.

I travel to Chicago on the 14th to spend a few days with Dann Spader, the
founder of Sonlife, and stay with him until Sunday the 17th. He is arranging
for me to meet with his church with the view of funding being considered.

>From Chicago I fly to Orlando, Florida, for a four day conference with the
leadership team from our global partners organisation called the Global
Youth Initiative - you may recall that I hosted an international GYI
gathering in May last year in South Africa. Pray for us as we look at the
way ahead for the Global Youth Initiative.

I then spend one day with Bill Hodgson who is the Campus Crusade Director
for Australia and I will be meeting with some of the student teams at the CC
headquarters where our conference is taking place. I then fly back to
Atlanta on Friday morning and at 10am fly to Johannesburg, arriving back
home on Saturday morning the 23rd of October at around 8am. Please pray for
my wife, Debbie, and my children, Keegan and Ashley, as they remain behind.
Pray that God will protect them and continue to use them to impact our
community for Christ.

Before I end off, here are two ministry highlights from the past month:

1. Ministry in East Africa
On Tuesday the 21st of September I received a phone call at the Sonlife
Africa and the caller identified himself as Pastor Yusuf Brown Kiyimba, a
pastor from Kampala in Uganda. He said that he had come to South Africa to
attend a conference in Durban and had also been put in touch with me through
some missionaries who visited his country some time back. We arranged to
meet on Thursday from lunch time onwards. To cut a long story short I
believe that God has brought about this divine connection - and he will be
hosting training for Sonlife to launch ministry in Uganda in May or June in
2005.

2. Regional Growth
As you may know, I believe God is calling us to a next level of organisation
in Africa, where our regional leaders spearhead the next phase of ministry
expansion. We have Gary Howell in central Africa, Edgar Ramsami in Southern
Africa and Peter Brokopp in West Africa who are helping to expand our
movement from country to country in their respective regions.

Gary Howell, who lives in the Congo, has just launched Sonlife in Cameroon
when he travelled there to present the first level of our training. Florence
who is the director of I Care ministries in Cameroon hosted the training and
this is an email that she sent me a few days ago:

Dear Pastor Mark, we just ended the young leaders training seminar with Gary
on the strategy of the ministry of Christ. It was a great time for us. We
were able to gathered about 35 young leaders from several churches and I can
assure you that we are more challenge to do something for our generation. We
have a new passion to be true disciple and to make disciples for Christ. We
have got new principles and strategies that will make our ministries more
effective. Thanks for this precious help. Be praying for us. In Christ, love
Florence.

Thank you once again for your interest and involvement in the ministry of
Sonlife in Africa.

Your co-worker in Africa

Mark Tittley
