PHM Draft Strategic Plan (2008/9):

 

During the last few months, the PHM went through a process of strategic and operational planning for the years 2008/9. The draft strategic plan was developed by the coordinating commission and adopted by the PHM Steering Council in its last meeting (Cairo, early April 2008).

 

The plan adopted the revitalization of the "Comprehensive Primary Health Care" as a major theme for the Movement's activities during these two years.

 

In addition, it focused on further building the Movement through:

-       strengthening the PHM country circles;

-       proactive engagement with other social movements and networks; and

-       active renewal of the Movement's leadership.

 

The plan addresses key challenges the Movement is currently facing; including:

-       The need to strengthen the connections between local, national and global levels of the Movement's activities;

-       The need to develop our governance structures with clearer criteria of representation and accountability.

 

The Steering Council has committed to the development of a PHM platform for "Comprehensive Primary Health Care".
