pal-en Mailing List Archive: [PAL-en] Tips on using PAL lists / Conseils sur l'utilisation des listes PAL[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next] [Date Index] [Thread Index]
There are several new members on the .PAL lists. Therefore, I thought it would be useful to review some advice on the format and content of messages. Please remember that every message will be processed by automatic translation. So, it is important to remember some simple guidelines: Tip#1 When you send a message to this list, please do not send it in HTML format. The automatic translation cannot process email in HTML. Send the mail as plain text (texte.simple) only. Tip#2 If you do not want a particular word in your email to be translated, then put a dot in front of the word. This is especially useful with some technical words and also with some proper nouns and personal names. Tip#3 The translation software is simple. So, please write in sentences that are simple, clear, and preferably short. Tip#4 When you write a message for this list, please be sure that the spelling is correct. The translation software is not capable of recognizing or translating misspelled words. Also, when this happens, it makes it difficult for the software to parse the sentence correctly. Tip#5 Send messages only in the language of the list to which you are mailing. For example, mail to PAL-en should only be in English. If you use more than one working language, please consider subscribing to more than one .PAL list.[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next] [Date Index] [Thread Index] Last Updated: Thu Nov 22 12:06:02 2007 |
