Beware. I just saw in circulation again, announcement for the so called Africa
Youth Leadership Forum which was used to scam us last year. It is being
circulated by the same Nigerian lady- Onyeka Obasi and her FAI organization. I
know two members of the youth caucus that were victims of this scam last year.
Onyeka herself was arrested in Ghana last year, for attempting to defraud a
Ghanaian business in connection with this.

Many African youths were made to write long applications only for their details
to be used for fundraising purposes from international foundations while there
was in fact no forum at all. This year's announcement is again using the same
tricks they used on us last year- promising meetings with African Presidents,
Kofi Annan, African AU, UN and internationally known figures who were not even
aware of the conferences at all. None of the caucus members from Nigeria who
are all actively involved in human rights work in that country has ever heard
this organization

Please do not send them your information and forward this to all African youth
groups.

I think the youth caucus should petition the Nigeria authorities to track her
down to tell us what happened with our information last, why the conference
didn't take place and what happened with all the funding they used our
informationm to get.

Prince,

I am certainly impressed by the way you took "the bull by the horns" and
attempted to provide first hand information about the so-called conferences.

I am equally impressed by your personal interest in the matter, an effort which
if emulated by the teeming youth from all over Africa and elsewhere, should in
no time see the fruitful apprehension of perpetrators by members of the
security forces who are very interested, I am sure!
I have always known that the collective action of youth (or inaction, on the
other hand) would provide the platform and assistance needed to bring those
criminals to book (otherwise they would carry on unabated).

I plead to use this important forum to urge all members from all over Africa
especially, (and else where) to take interest in EVERY YOUTH CONFERENCE
scheduled to be organized by any forum what-so-ever, anywhere in our countries,
making thorough investigations including phone calls, arranging meetings with
organizers, visiting proposed conference venues and asking questions e.t.c. We
could then advice other members regarding the authenticity or otherwise of the
said conferences for wide circulation, to alert vulnerable members of the
general public. This way, they would no longer have any hiding place.

Together united, the criminals amongst us shall be revealed!
PEACE!

Dear All!

I have read with mixed feeling the various alegation put forth in the mails
previously circulated. I must earnestly say I was I found myself lost in
wonderland. Prior to the event in Ghana, I equally submitted a paper, formally
applied for participation and was privileged to be selected. I was among the
Ghanaian youth delegates represented at the event which DID take place here in
Accra-Ghana. Unless of course someone else wants us to beleive we we were
dreaming or interacting with Ghosts, I saw myself in the company of other youth
delegates from countries like Libya, Cameroun, Senegal, Benin, South Africa,
Kenya, and others. Like myself, female youth were duly and fairly represented.
Yes, technology can allow for picture maipulation, but at least, I have a few
of my own to share with you.

In sum, i found the event very insightful, results-oriented and measurable
outcomes achieved. Possibly there could be areas that may require some
improvements so why don't we make constructive proposals and move from there?
Can we for example enrich the follow-up activities to enssure consistency and
sustainability of achieved impact?

Best wishes to all and long live the African Youth Dream!
