Hello,

I have read the mails with much interest, well i thought that this ungodly
insult to Nigerians only happen at America and Spanish Embasies, i do not know
that South Africa of all Countries should be discriminating after being rescued
from their aparthied era.

Every member of the NGO community have his own story to tell, i will still
encourage us all to see it as a challenge in our pursuit in seeing that Africa
becomes great.

Moreso, i think we should collectively write an open letter to the Foreign
Affairs, telling them about the ordeal that our brothers are facing in the
hands of these embassies and the outragius fees that they are collecting as
visa fees. These people should also be made to refund at least 50% of the fees
when visa is not granted.

Thank you Mr Tawe, please still help our brother to collect the deposited money.

The light must shine.

Hello All,

Well, am back again on this issue because of its importance. I also believe a
lot have been said on the matter and one only hopes that the authorities
concerned will do something to rectify the problem.

I want to propose that we should all come together to wage a crusade on the
refund of visa fees to refused applicants. This will take an international
campaign to impress upon all embassies in this world to refund visa fees to
applicants when visas are denied.

I want people to join but the question what do you all think?

Dear Friends,

Greetings to you all. Well, as an African, I know the first thing you do is to
greet those you meet at home for you to get an audience.

I have been following the issues raised and opinions expressed by various
writers on the above mentioned saga. I never wanted to comment, but, my heart
bleeds when I read some of the comments raised by my fellow African brothers
and sisters. Without prejudice, I want to start categorically, that 'Good
people infact great people have emerged and will continue to emerge from
Nigeria'. In as much as, I will not excuse the nefarious acts perpetrated by
some unscrupulous and unpatriotic Nigerians who commit evil and give the rest
of us a bad name; I strongly want to start categorically that Nigeria is today,
the most populous black nation on earth. With over 140million people and still
counting, then on what basis do you weigh the level of crime from Nigerians in
foreign lands with other African nationals. I stand to be corrected but all
countries have bad people and crimes are perpetrated by many other African
nationals in relation to Nigerians. However, when you compare the population of
Nigerians with other nationals in different countries then there is no basis
for generalisation.

Nigerians, as far as I am concerned are good, accommodating, loving and caring
people. This has been demonstrated by the BIG BROTHER AFRICA role played by
Nigeria in both the political and economic issues of our black brothers/sisters
in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Actually, bad leadership and corruption have made some Nigerians to become bad
eggs. I can tell you that Nigeria is on the road of recovery and there is no
stopping us. South Africa is a great nation with great potentials and the
influence of development over time is being witnessed in that country. But,
please I want all Africans especially those contributing to this discourse to
be wary of the comments they make. Not all Nigerians are thieves infact, the
bad eggs are only a minute few when you consider the population. There is no
nation in the world, where Nigerians have not made a positive impact. I have
been to East Africa and I want to say that it is not just Nigerians that are
causing problems there. We need to overcome the colonial mentality and respect
one another. If I have a genuine cause and reason to be in any country, it is
because I have something positive to offer.

I am proud to be a Nigerian and I stand to be counted as a good Nigerian . Let
us all say no to recolonisation and yes to brotherly love, When next you meet a
Nigerian remember he/she is just 1 out of over 140 million as compared to 1 out
of 5, 10, 15, 20,.....million from other African countries. Remember the likes
of Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka....... and many others . We are not all pick
pockets as mentioned by one of the contributors. I knopw and am also familiar
with the menace in East, North, South and other parts of West Africa. Bad
people are everywhere from all nations of the world. It is our duty to stop
those people through good counsel and a positive exemplary life. Not by calling
other people devils, while taking the stance of an angel. Nigerians treat
others well, so treat us well too.

Long live Nigeria! long live South Africa! and long live the black race!
Remember success is achieved by unity of purpose......................

Hello everyone,

Today is really my first time of contributing to discussion held on this forum,
and the sensitivity of the topic has attracted me to share a piece with
contributors.

Infact, it is high time, our brothers and sisters in Nigeria do put their
houses in order, because it is becoming so shameful, it seems like anywhere
they happens to be in this world, they tend to destroy their name there,
whether in Africa, or Western world. They engaged in all manner of crimes that
is link to human race from Prostitution, scam, money laundering, drug offences,
arm robbery, etc.

I may sound like a prophet of doom, a day will come that no country in this
world will allow Nigerians on their soils, and they will be bound to stay in
their home land till eternity. Until they change their ways, no country will
entertain them.

A word to a wise is enough!

Dear All,

I think the point i can reason with you all here is that we should try by all
means to put the square peck in the merited hole. We should be preaching the
spirit of oneness ( Ujama) and social responsibility in our dear continent so
that we be the young persons who will rule our darling continent without
fear. The challenges we face within this continent are up to us and we have
the solutions just near our noises but why is it that we do not act but
waiting for someone else to provide a solution.

The action must not necceassary be war or any other type of violence Let us
be those young people who live in the continent because we are born and
proud of it, we should not be those who want to live but do not want to
be born have a great time
