Dear Franck,
I totally disagree with you. We are not talking of just one issue as you
mentioned in your response. We are concerned with the myraid of insults meted
to Nigerian who reasonably wants to travel to abroad for one reason or the
other.
The Nigerian foreign affairs have over the years being complaining to these
embassies on the way they treat Nigerians. For me it is inhumane and must be
totally condemned. Mrs. Bunmi Adedina issues may have received an attention
because she took it to the virtual community, but there are millions of
Nigerians that have harrowing experiences. Please read through Mrs. Bunmi
Adedina response to the Embassy official again.
I must tell you that there is no exception.
International relationships amongst countries also permit unhindered exchange
of both business and pleasure visits.
I also want to thank Tawe for coming on this discussion. But, more to it is
that SA embassy should refund the money and stop harassing Nigerians the way
they are doing. It is very very unfair.

Dear Mr. Tawe,
I hope this issue will by addressed by your mission and there should be no
future occurrence. We are here in the West, doing all we can to unify Africa
and foster Economic, social and Political development in Africa. Such news came
to most of us as a big disappointment; this could affect the bilateral
relationship between both Countries.
Kindly do all you can to ensure that not only Mrs Bunmi Adedina get back her
deposit but all those that has deposited money with your Mission for visa
should get it back.
Your Mission should be more friendly and should be happy that people still want
to go to South Africa in spite of the very high crime rate.
Thanks for your anticipated co-operation.
Best Regards

Dear friends
We as africans have always strived to eradicate racial disrimination amongst us
,its trully disheartening to learn that a fellow "african" country can do such
a thing. We do not deny the fact that SA is developing at a faster rate than
any other african state, but that does not give them the right to abuse us if
we are in their country because they are treated with courtesy in our own
countries.

Dear All,
I was real touched when i read your story, I go to a church lead by a Nigerian
Pastor in Kampala. When I went to Kenya , for a visit and introduced my self
in the church there, they asked me to tell Church and Pastor, I told them the
name of my Church in Kampala and The name of my Pastor. These people thought I
needed a quick counseling to move away from the church, and i was asked if
there is any other church in Kampala. I felt total ashamed and discouraged,
Even in Kampala some people do no want to associate with Nigerians because of
the Bad reputation linked to our dear Brothers and Sisters from Nigeria.
Please Nigerian Brothers and Sisters come up and show the good side of Nigeria.
My Pastor from Nigeria in Kampala has proved beyond.

Dear concerned Africans,
There's one thing I always tell my friends and that is "the wisest decision God
made for me is not only creating me but making me an African". Many do not
receive this saying with joy at all but i strongly believe in it.
Why are we talking about the experiences in Asia, America and Europe? Have we
forgotten these people will continuously do us more harm if we do not put our
house in order? Why, do we believe these people will develop Africa for us? My
answer to these questions is a big NO. Africans problems are to be solved by
Africans. Lets take West Africa as an example. From June 17 to June 22, 2003
the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) organised the maiden edition of
ECOWAS students summit in Accra - Ghana. This summit brought in the President
of Ghana (H.E John Agyekum Kufuor), The then Executive Secretary of ECOWAS (Dr.
Mohammed Ibn Chambas), the Ivorian Foreign Affairs Minister and a whole lot of
highly ranked persons from the west African subregion. It was also to afford
youth and student activists in the subregion the opportunity to make meaningful
and purposeful contribution to the ECOWAS regional integration process.
There again our Nigerian counterparts had to go through a hell of time before
they were able to take part in this very important event. The officials at the
borders were indescribable. Customs officers from Nigeria - Benin - Togo before
getting to Ghana. A lot of them could no longer bear the humiliation and
returned to Nigeria. Those who could afford traveling by air had it simple. I
wept when peple called me from NIgeria to narrate their ordeal. Those who
managed to make it despite the harrasement promised not to take those chances
again. IN some cases I (Summit Coordinator) had to get some officials from
Ghana to talk to officers at the borders to release some arrested participants
of the Summit. If this is happening to ourselves without the whiteman's doing
then can we complain? We have to clean our houses first. Is it not more serious
to go through these things at your own backyard than to experience it in
America or Europe? Lets address this first. If we can do it to ourselves why
are we complaining when the whiteman is doing it to us? I know it is bad to
perpetuate this on humanity but please lets seek to address this in Africa.
West, East, Central North and South Africa must unite before we can efficiently
fight against what the whiteman is doing.
There's hope in Africa - Youth, lets believe in Africa - Africa can make it.
Long live Africa.

Dear Nigerians,
I will not take this kind of discourse lying down. I am Kenyan and the
accusation's leveled against my countrymen cannot go without challenge.
Those of us who have travelled widely know the problem with West Africans and
Nigerians in particular. Drug peddling, fraud and money laundering is what most
of them do when they go to what they call small countries. Nobody is ready to
take chances with them anywhere. they could be your paying customers but the
damage they can cause to your business can last forever. Going by the records
and statistics of peddlers, fraudster and money launder, Kenya has first hand
experience with them and NOBODY is ready to take chances.
some experiences are even more terrible. They can even pick pocket you when you
sit side by side in an aeroplane. The writer below is mentioning Kibera as if
he has been there. if you didn't walk past the airport how can you describe
kibera with so much confidence?. is it a Mr. Know it all situation? you better
stop.
As your countrymen to desist from their wayward habits.

Hello all
It is really hurting to know that we are treating each other so very badly
amongst us as africans. We must unite and be one family and stop all this harsh
treatments towards each other.Personally i feel we should all join hands and
support each other, it is my prayer that our african governments we look into
these issue and hopefully a solution can be found. I want to take this
opportunity to apologise to all who have experienced these injustices within or
outside Africa. We all feel the pain you are not alone
God Bless you all
