Hi Guys! I have been out the city into the very hinterland, struggling to put a little shine on the faces of our very underprivileged brothers and sisters. My contribution to the belated issue ?Ghana or Africa?? from Michael. We always sit on the fence thinking to grasp opportunity. Lets us try not to be opportunist but coming out with concrete ideas and getting it implemented. To put it very correctly, I think the idea of starting something by AYF was on the net, all the idea was spelt out clearly and after was this slatted Symposium. Did Tanzanians saw it very interesting to respond to it? Some Ghanaians followed the idea closely and eventually represented Ghana at the AYF?s last Symposium in May 2001. I have come to learn even that a member of the Board of Directors for AYF is a Tanzanian and the basic idea of AYF is to aid young people in Africa, as well as African National in Europe, especially unemployed African graduates to undertake projects which, will enable them obtain skills necessary for their future livelihoods. If this is so, where has AYF deviated? Are you trying to suggest that AYF be re-coined GYF [Ghana Youth Foundation]? Let us learn to appreciate the efforts of some people and stop condemning unnecessarily. I am most sudden to learn from you that, you are looking for a foundation that can really help African Youths. Would you not be in the position to establish one yourself for African Youths? I don?t want to suggest that the people who criticize a lot themselves have nothing to offer. ?Learn to read between lines if you are been briefed and always try to join the wagon than staying afar?. Even if AYF has a hidden agenda using ?Africa? name but only concentrating on Ghana; Ghana is still part of Africa. From Ghana we could move on to Tanzania. If you have very good ideas bring them out. If you keep them to yourself it might turn skeletons. Regards,
