FYI, this item may be of interest. TalkaSoft Soro is described on the site
(URL below) as a "Universal Language Tutor and highly accurate Translator
plus LifeStyle Information Library." It seems like a kind of dictionary with
translator and some meta-information. It would be of interest to hear from
anyone who has used it. 

The company is based in Australia, and is another example of Africans abroad
are playing interesting roles in using ICT for/in African languages.

Perhaps members may be interested to know of this new universal language
translation software which was designed by a colleague here in Australia. It
has already completed 
translating Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa languages into each other and English and
the Ghanaian and Indian languages are being perfected. It is called
Talkasoft-Soro. The URL is below.
