kasahorow July Update

Dear Subscriber,
In this edition, you will find some interesting ways to search the kasahorow Dictionaries. You will also be introduced to the new Setswana Dictionary. Enjoy!

kasahorow-Enabled Setswana Dictionary
kasahorow Web Toolkit has been used to set up a Setswana dictionary. Setswana is the predominantly spoken language in Botswana, where more than 1 million people are native speakers. It is also one of South Africa's official languages. For a start, the dictionary, which is supported by the kasahorow Communication Group, has a list of at least 1000 entries.

Search Tips

• It is recommended that users of the kasahorow Dictionaries search for entries in their source languages. Another way of looking at it is to search the word you are looking for by using the search box of that language itself. For example, if you are looking for the Ewe word for "work", which is an English word, you are more likely to find the desired word, 'dɔwɔwɔ', by searching the English dictionary with 'work' than by searching the Ewe dictionary with 'work'. In this particular example, you will come up with no results for the less recommended method.
• In addition to searching for an entry in the kasahorow Dictionaries, you may also do Google or Yahoo! search inside kasahorow, by clicking the links at the bottom left corner of any page that is returned as a result of searching for a kasahorow entry. This is especially useful if, for example, you want to find instances of a word as used in sentences in other local language content pages on the Internet.
