I can also add:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/browse/type:3
Spell checkers for Firefox and Thunderbird Afrikaans, Arabic, French and
many others.

And not exactly available from the add-ons site, but easily installable:
ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0.0.5/win32/xpi/
Language interface packs to change the interface language of an existing
Firefox installation. To activate it, the locale switcher that you
referred to is necessary and a restart or two of Firefox.

That directory also contains the locales that are currently in
"beta" (not officially released by Mozilla). I only really know of
Afrikaans in terms of Africa.
