I Sylla, i ni ce! As far as I know there is no speech recognition software for Bamanankan or any other languages of Mali. I would be pleased to learn that I am incorrect. There is active interest in this area among people like Tunde Adegbola (Yoruba) and Nimaan Abdillahi (Somali) (and possibly the Meraka Institute in South Africa). A few years ago Cris Culy (who was in Peace Corps/Mali at the same time I was way back in 83-85) had worked on speech synthesis for Bamanankan. I'll cc to A12n-collaboration where there may be some more feedback. Slightly tangential to the request: Not long ago I commented on a column that was not too optimistic about such advanced technologies in a new blog effort at http://donosborn.org/blog/?p=6 Mid'o joota yimb'e ma.
