[A12n-Collab] International Mother Language Day / International Year of Languages

For those who are not aware, today is the 9th annual observance of International Mother Language Day and the date of the official launch of the International Year of Languages. Although neither directly impact work technical or policy aspects of localization, they do represent occasions for heightening awareness of and encouraging collaboration on African languages and ICT.

 

In that spirit, it may be useful for localization projects during the International Year of Languages to list themselves on UNESCO's register of projects during the Year. This can be done at http://tinyurl.com/27hcef (although you will need a recent version of Adobe Reader to complete the form).
